Housing NOT on U-bill: Waived when participating in the SCHU Cultural Internship Program. Students can purchase bedding from SCHU at $50.

International Airfare NOT on U-bill: Ranges from $1,300 to $1,700, round-trip from Des Moines to Seoul. SCHU provides an airfare scholarship of approximately $710.

Meals NOT on U-bill: Estimated by SCHU is $1,500 per semester and includes five cafeterias on campus, meals ranging from 2,000 - 3,500 won ($3.50 USD) per meal. Restaurants off campus are typically around $5 per meal.

Local Transportation Abroad NOT on U-bill: Estimated around $800 per semester.

Personal Expenses: Estimated by SCHU at $1,500 per semester. Students will receive a weekly stipend of approximately $100.

Academic Supplies: Estimate by SCHU at $150 per semester.

Partner Institution Miscellaneous Fees NOT on U-bill: Estimate includes South Korean Health Insurance at $63 per semester and Alien Card Registration with photo at $35.

Additional Visa: Costs estimate includes travel to the consulate in Chicago at $159 and self-addressed return envelope at $15. 

Required Immunizations (per host country): Estimate is for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccine at SCHU if required. Must show proof of vaccine for waiver.
