South Korea

Soonchunhyang University in Sinchang, South Korea offers a cultural and language internship lasting for four months. Students spend 8-10 hours each week talking with Korean students in English and also take a full semester of classes. Students receive about $100 weekly for the conversations, an $800 airplane ticket stipend, and free room and board. Students participating in the program live in the Global Village dormitories alongside students from across the United States and from across the world.
Living in South Korea offers excellent opportunities to travel throughout Asia, to experience a relatively unknown culture, and to enjoy the sights of this economically booming country. Students at Soonchunhyang University have easy access to public transportation through the Sinchang Metro Station and a trip to South Korea’s capitol city, Seoul, takes about one hour. Beyond the enormous capitol city of 10 million, though, are dozens of easily accessible unique Korean cities.  Participating in the cultural and language internship and attending Soonchunhyang University offers the experience of a lifetime and is certainly a program that makes financial sense for any student interested in studying abroad.
